Cross-Cultural Missions
MISSIONS

Rita Gomes Dos Santos
Pernambuco, single and member of the Missão Evangélica Pentecostal do Brasil Church in Ponte dos Carvalhos – Cabo de Santo Agostinho/PE.
He studied at the Instituto Bíblico Betel Brasileiro João Pessoa- PB- Brazil.
Graduated in Bachelor of Theology with Specialization in Missions and Religious Education Class of 1999. I underwent Transcultural and Linguistic Training at WH (Missão Horizontes)-MG in the year 2000-2003 as a participant in the Radical Project 1.
After this first experience in West Africa, I had a time of renewed strength, health care and time with family, church, friends and ministry collaborators in Brazil, and in June 2005 I returned to the African continent as a missionary.
This time, I went to the country of Mali where I worked for 4 years in the north of the country among the Songhai people. During this period, exactly in April 2006, in a time of trials and financial difficulties, the Lord of Missions, provider of His work, raised up the brothers of the church in Kuwana/JP through Pastors Diogo and Simone at the time, to join me in propagating of the gospel in North Malia; supporting with prayers and contributions.
Sovereign God who does as He pleases to fulfill His purposes in the lives of His servants. In 2009, with the conflicts between the Malian army and terrorist groups in that region, after seeking divine direction, I had a clear direction to return to Niger and continue ministering to Africans, especially women and children.
Missionary Work Mali
Working in Mali
In Mali, while learning the local language I made friends, a very effective strategy for a region with a large Muslim majority, because as the relationship grows closer we share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We used (me and the missionary Telma Santos with whom he works in partnership) the strategy of the arts project, teaching women and teenagers: Crochet, Cross Stitch Embroidery and Russian Stitch.
Missionary Work Niger
Working in Niger
After spending a few months in the interior, delving deeper into learning the Zarma language and learning the culture of the Zarma people, I settled in the capital and in partnership with the Gomes family and the Pontes family, who worked in another neighborhood, we dedicated ourselves to planting churches in peripheral neighborhoods, aiming to save lives and train indigenous leaders.

Latest news
Niger Africa
The church founded in Niger was left in the care of the natives with the general direction of a Brazilian pastor as president, and 90% Africans on its board.
The Work is advancing for the glory of God. The time we left in construction that was at the bases, the children's classroom and toilets is almost completed, and workers were sent as missionaries to the interior of the country, it is very gratifying to see loved ones like Abdousalam who converted in the church, was literate and trained He is now serving in the interior with his wife Mariane, who is also the result of this ministry, supported and trained in personal evangelism, the couple is now multiplying for the glory of God.
Pray for this couple and their little son Ezekiel, they are working in a very hostile region in the interior of Niger.

Transition period
Challenge
After 19 years serving in Africa, I clearly understood that my time in West Africa was over and that I should return to Brazil; which meant leaving my comfort zone, as Niamey/Niger became my second home, but like a sheep that hears the voice of its shepherd and follows it, I returned to my city, and I am living with my elderly parents 78 and 92 years(Severino and Antonia) and serving the Lord in the local church; I am seeking to know God's direction for the next steps.
Meanwhile, I answer invitations to testify in churches of various denominations about missionary work in less evangelized regions of the world, people from the 10x40 Window with the aim of challenging the new generation to get involved with missionary work not only by contributing financially and praying but also going wherever the Lord of the Harvest sends.

Challenge
Porto da Folha- Sergipe. Last September we trained and took a team of brothers to evangelize, and assist this country community with small services in the health area, we had a harvest of 26 lives surrendered to the Lord. Who were under the care of the missionary couple Pr.Cabral and miss.Nueli (MEPB).
These last few weeks I have been serving flooded communities in PE with the local church.
