Ordained Missionary Pastor

Zacarias Amisse Mendo Moreno

My name is Zacarias Amisse Mendo Moreno, born on August 8, 1980, in a province in central Mozambique. Married to Erika Cristina Bernardes (Brazilian from MG) and I have two children.

I accepted Jesus in May 1998 at the evangelical Church Assembly of God. Coming from a family of Islamic and Catholic religious people. I received Baptism in the Holy Spirit 3 months after my salvation and in January 1999 I received baptism by immersion.

The experience of salvation drove me to a life committed to spreading the gospel and leading those who believe to an actively correct life mirrored in the biblical model. I took discipleship courses, Sunday school teacher and Basic theological education by extension (not completed) and now a second year student of Higher Education in Theology at IBBB.

I have been a navy soldier since 2001, and now I have the rank of 1st Lieutenant and a monthly salary of approximately 1250 Reais. During my military career I worked as an instructor and Operations officer, I also benefited from training in military sciences, seminars and exercises outside my country. At the moment I am working in command of the Mozambique Navy, in the basic military instruction sector.

In the ministerial sphere, I was consecrated as a missionary in 2007, in the church where I discovered the path and there I worked more in the area of evangelization, teaching in Sunday EB and youth leadership. I also performed administrative tasks and opened 2 new preaching points.

In 2014, I discovered Bethel through a Brazilian missionary called Domingas and subsequently won a scholarship for higher education in theology. From then on I began to develop evangelistic, discipleship and social support work within the scope of the Supervised Practical Internship, consequently in June 2015 we received a visit from the president of Bethel Brasileiro, Pr. Edmundo Vasconcelos, together with his team made up of 05 brothers ( 03 coming from Brazil and 02 coming from Japan). The Pastor President presented the missionary vision of Bethel and the need to intensify the mechanisms and strategies for harvesting the fruits that the seeds of Bethel invested in me.

Missionary Work

Missionary work with 5 churches spread across Mozambique

We started our work in 2016, in Mozambique.

We have worked mainly in the areas of Evangelization, discipleship and social support. We currently have 5 churches spread throughout the country.
There are 2 churches in Maputo in the country's capital, 2 churches in Manica and 1 in Zambézia which is 1700km from the capital.

We ask God to give us the conditions to build a temple built with conventional materials. Today, we worship in a temple built with improvised local materials, which houses only 50 people.

Many people have been left outside the temple during worship, and we have had difficulty during the pandemic, with the restriction of only 25 people inside the temple, due to social distancing.
